Made popular around the world by Gwen Stefani, who hired four Harajuku girls to be her entourage and back up dancers throughout her show. As well as Harajuku Lover's perfume ( Pictured below. )
Cosmetic companies such as Anna Sui have also taken inspiration from the Harajuku styles creating collections of eyeshadows featuring the usual colours made popular by the girls. The collection below is from 2013 and has very playful and youthful looking packaging which nicely links into my word, Gambol.
HARAJUKU IN EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHY.
HARAJUKU STREET STYLE.
The Pink eyeshadow and colour through the hair and brows shows an edgy youth culture that has a playful and 'cute' style about it. Girls who dress in this fashion make their eyes look bigger by wearing large fake contact lenses and keeping a light colour underneath the eyes. I think this look is perfect to help inspire my hair and makeup charts for my editorial look as the colours are very ethereal and dream like also.
