Beauty shooting techiniques 1:

Set Up One:

Tools:
 - Diffuser panels
 - Soft box x2
 - C stands
 - Polyboards (white)
 - Beauty dish and stand
 - Tripod
 - Reflector board
 - Sync lead
 - Hot shoe adaptor
 - Camera and lenses

Set up the soft boxes at half power to face away from the backdrop and toward the back of the model. Set up two c stands in front of the soft boxes and attach the diffuser panels in order to create a very soft light that will reflect the other lights around the model and created a sculpted facial look. Place poly boards either side of the model to reflect more light. In front of the model and above the camera and tripod set up a beauty dish with a diffuser cover over the top.

Camera settings:
 Aperture: F5.6
 ISO: 1/160 or 1/ 100
 50mm lense for detailed facial shots.
 85mm lense for closer face shots with less or no background
 100mm lense for detailed up close eye and lip shots.

Remove the diffuser panels and the soft box light covers.move the polyboards closer into the model's face to reflecting effectively double the light being produced on the face. change aperture to F8. lighting is good for colourful hair and creates high shine on hair. Use 85mm camera lens for close up facial photography.

 ISO: 1/160 or 1/ 100
 50mm lense for detailed facial shots.
 85mm lense for closer face shots with less or no background
 100mm lense for detailed up close eye and lip shots.

Remove the white polyboards on the sides of the studio and replace with black polyboards to create a darker and less reflective look. Re-add the diffuser panels for the softer light look again. Aperture to F6.3. Use 100mm lense to take close up detailed beauty shots of singular facial features.

 Aperture: F6.3
 ISO: 1/160 or 1/ 100
 50mm lense for detailed facial shots.
 85mm lense for closer face shots with less or no background
 100mm lense for detailed up close eye and lip shots.
